Ms. T's Success Story

Counseling can play a key role in helping people move from feeling like victims to feeling like survivors who are ready to move forward in their lives and thrive. Ms. T came to Safelight, entering our shelter to escape abuse and exploitation from her family. While in Shelter, she accessed a variety of Safelight services, including counseling. Through individual counseling, she was able to address her feeling of grief, loss, and trauma. Her fear and anxiety abated, and she has been able to move forward, live independently, go to college, and develop healthy social connections. She continues to use counseling as a support in her new life.
